If You Can't See the Angels No More, You're In Trouble.

"Intense" or "In Tents," which one?

Brief post tonight... and a late post as well. I always try to get each post started before the midnight deadline each day, but I'm a few minutes past midnight right now, so it's going to show as July 2 instead of July 1st. Oh, well, it was an arbitrary self-imposed rule, really. I'm still going to talk about Wednesday, regardless.

First off, congrats to Shannon for winning the June Movie Quote Crown. It was pretty close toward the end there... Bob was coming on strong, but it wasn't quite enough. Good work, Shannon - if I had my head about me, I would come up with funny gifts as rewards, like I did for Bob last time.

I'm in the tail end of our annual Marital Uproar. That's why I missed tonight's midnight deadline - I was wrapping up a very productive, difficult, long discussion with my better half. I'm certainly not going to lay out the main issues here, sorry. But let's just say it is a hard piece of road since the camp, and leave it at that. There will be pieces to pick up for a while, but it looks like we'll pull through intact. I tell ya, I hate hate hate it. Ooh, I'm going to resist the urge to elaborate and move on...

I better radically change the subject. Lemme see if I can track down a Funny Picture...

There we go. It's similar to the skydiving dog from the other day, in a way. Repelling SWAT dogs... you gotta love it.

And you can't lose with a compilation of odd car crashes. Here it is...

The strangest thing about that video is when that kid occasionally says "I like turtles." Bizarre.

Eldest Daughter should be calling me any minute to go pick her up from work. She worked until midnight tonight, and that was about 30 minutes ago now... I'm glad the mall is right across the street - but even if it was a lot further, I'd still go get her, cuz she's my sweetie.

I finished The Lies of Locke Lamora last night. It had a pretty satisfying ending, even if it seemed a little too Hollywood-ready, if you know what I mean. And I still think the profanity is/was unnecessary. The characters were solid enough, and the face-off with the bad guy at the end was sufficiently fitting. Not really sure how or where the story will go in Book 2, but I'll start it tonight.

I need to finish the Piranha Newsletters tonight as well... which means I have a long night ahead of me. Until tomorrow, remember, a sniper who doesn't relocate isn't normal.

Good morning, Dave! Hope this day is better than the last. :)
(Sorry, I'm tired and that's the best I can do).

Title is from Carlito's Way, and the final line is from Enemy at the Gates.

Top of the morning to ya, David.

The Lies of Locke Lamora, eh. I've not read that one, but if it's got unnecessary profanity in it, I might just take a look! ;-)

Annual beats bi-annual, right? Or what about tri-annual, quad-annual or, nm - you get it. You're quite a little trooper, as Mom might say. And an inspiration to all of us who sometimes feel like giving up.

That picture for today is one of my favorite DA pictures. If I had a couple grand to blow I'd cover every inch of my room with art like that.

btw, the post shows July 1st for me.
