I'm On My Knees In A $900 Suit!
Happy [insert day of the week where you are right now] to you all! I trust all is well with you?
If all is well, then, hey, enjoy it while it lasts. If all is not well, then, hey, the night doesn't last forever either.
There. Did my empty platitude scattering for the day. Now I can move on. Unless you want me to write a poem about it, too...
The Dawn Cometh, Fear Ye Not
by D.L. Wagner
(__|__) - PFFF!!!!
That's the extent of my desire to write a poem at the moment. Sorry. Maybe tomorrow...
Today was pretty grueling. Knocked out two (count them, two!) pressing projects, fired off an invoice so I can get some more $, but received a set-back from Josh regarding the rug website, which I'll need to address on Wednesday. Too much to do... times like this, I wish I had an assistant (among other things).
Heard from my good pal Jason C. today. He called from Florida. If you've seen the D'Jimmy 06 skate video in the margin to your right, you know which Jason I'm referring to. He's a golf pro now, at a nice East Coast golf resort called Dataw Island. Here's the link to the "staff" page. He said the pic of him makes him look like a guppy.
He's doing well this week... apparently last week he had the "week from hell" dealing with a kidney stone. He seems to be recovering ok. He called to play some tracks off of Depeche Mode's new album for me. Seems like a solid effort from DM. Jason likes it better than their previous effort, which I felt was pretty mediocre overall as well.
Here's a funny pic I found online.
Mona Lisa with a rocket launcher. Wonder what country that's in?
I started this blog so I could write whatever I felt like writing - similar to a personal journal, I suppose. I figured no one would ever read it (more than maybe once, out of courtesy if I asked them to), so I was safe to write without censoring - just let it fly. Well, it hasn't really worked out that way. I feel compelled to keep the difficult personal stuff out of it now - I mean, who wants to read about that? I doubt any of you would subject yourselves to another man's pain. You all have junk of your own to deal with, without volunteering to heap my junk on top of your own to boot.
So, I will refrain from personal venting here, save for a vague little blurb, that will serve no purpose other than to trick myself into thinking I'm still in complete control of this blog, without being swayed by outside opinion. The Blurb: It would be nice to not feel so friggin alone in my marriage.
OK, that's out of the way, now we can move on...
Here's a classic funny video, of a fake newscast at one of those gaspump video screens. I think you'll enjoy this one...

Funny. There are several at a Universal Studios photobooth that are also funny. Maybe I'll post one of those tomorrow.
Todayve In History: May 6
- May 6, 1536: Henry VIII orders English language Bibles to be placed in every church. (Reading them was optional - and still is.)
- May 6, 1889: The Eiffel Tower is officially opened to the public in Paris. (In attendance were 10,000 mimes.)
- May 6, 1937: The Hindenberg goes boom at Lakehurst, NJ. (Fire started when one of the maintenance workers lit his fart to celebrate their safe "passage".)
- May 6, 1954: Roger Bannister becomes the first person to run the mile in under 4 minutes. (Was his bike broken, I wonder?)
- May 6, 1994: The Chunnel Tunnel opens, connecting England and France. (Q: Why are the English always depressed? A: Because the light at the end of their tunnel is France.)
I started watching The Shawshank Redemption a little while ago, on Netflix Watch Instantly. Last time I saw it was the year it came out on video (1994) - I remember being disappointed, since I had read the book and, of course, thought the book was better. But, enough time has passed since either reading the book or watching the film, I thought I'd give it another go. I paused it to go get Eldest Daughter from work, then when I returned, I decided to do today's post. I'll resume watching after I publish todays hot air.
Gotta hop into the rug shop tomorrow. Tons of stuff going on there. Hope I don't forget anything.
Well, I'm done for today. Here's to a better tomorrow!
5 points to guess the movie quote in the post title....
Until tomorrow, remember, people who love sausage and respect the law should never watch either of them being made.
