My Childhood Was Typical. Summers in Rangoon... Luge Lessons...In the Spring, We'd Make Meat Helmets...

"Ten percent" or "Temper Scent", which one?

Man, you guys rocked the movie quotes yesterday! Sheesh! Still, one quote slipped through. "Here's another one I picked up in a dance hall" is from Duck Soup. Classic. But the rest of them you all gobbled up like Pac Man off his meds... they will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck!

All is well in the World of Wagner today. Went into the Rug Shop to fill in for Erik, the Delivery Man (out sick with a nasty sinus infection). I normally prefer not to engage in said pickup/delivery activities, but today was smooth like buttuh.

While we were driving out and about, I saw the weirdest thing - I wish I had my camera at the time, cuz it will sound really lame just being described - you'd really need a visual aid for it to click... but I'm gonna tell it anyway! There were a swarm of clouds scattered across the sky late morning. As I drove, I looked up and saw what looked like one cloud with rainbow colors painted on it. I took off my driving glasses and looked again... I asked the guy riding shotgun if he saw it too. We leaned out the window, in case it was a weird effect caused by the windshield... nope, there it was. One cloud in the middle of a bunch of regular white clouds... every bit of it striped with all the colors of the spectrum, violet to red. It was the entire cloud.

It had to be a weird weather effect or something, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out. Did anyone else in San Diego see it today? I tried Googling it, but couldn't find anything. It was in the air about an hour. It was mostly sunny - not even a hint of rain. A nice day, actually. And they looked like high-level clouds, too - not low ones. Dang, I wish I could just post a picture and say "What the heck!" Then you won't think I'm insane... then again, perhaps I am! MUAHAHAHAH!!!

Craziest thing. Well, in lieu of a pic of a rainbow-striped cloud, here's a link to a killer 360 panorama of the Grand Canyon. Maybe it will load for you ok... if not, you'll need to install Quicktime... most of you should have it already. Once it loads, I suggest clicking the "Full Screen" button in the lower-right corner. Then click-and-hold anywhere on the pic to scroll around. You can also zoom in and out.

I think those Quicktime 360 panoramas are so friggin cool. I could spend hours looking through the archive on that site. It's like visiting places around the world without having to leave your house. I still don't know how they get that full pan shot (up and down too), but apparently it's pretty easy... people all over the world submit pano-shots to that site... there's a drop menu in the upper right corner of that page I linked to... all kinds of panoramas in there to look at... some of them even add audio sound effects, which is cooler still... Tomb of Ramesses.

OK, enough nonsense. Excuse me while I whip this out... Here's a video for the Chris Farley fan in all of us...

I think you'll find that amusing, even if you haven't seen Tommy Boy. I wasn't the biggest Farley fan, but he had some good stuff... here's the direct link if it's not showing up for you...

Dangit, I can't get that I Have A Dream music out of my head. The last two days, solid, night and day, wedged in there like a piece of beef jerky between my molars. Anyone have any mental floss? I should just break down and permanently embed that video in the side bar.

Well, the battle for Alpha Male Supremecy doesn't look good for me... I'm pretty sure Dave-O could tie my stick-body into a pretzel, a la Zohan, and set me on a shelf somewhere as a book end. That was the finest beating I ever took! So, I've been reduced 4 ranks, to the rank of Epsilon Male, which is ungood. See, my problem is, I left my biceps in my pants pocket one time, and they went through the wash cycle, and shrank. It was an unfortunate setback. But Dave-O shows no mercy. After establishing dominance and putting me in my place, he went on to bigger things...

Dang... looks like Dave-O has made amazing progress on his chest in the past 24 hours... there be the chest... inside be the gold. My whole life I've never been able to lift ten times my body weight! Well, the inches we need are everywhere around us, eh Dave-O?

Nah, he won't come after me. He won't. I can't explain it. He would consider that rude.

Nothing interesting for you today, as far as Todayve In History, so I'll skip that.

In fact, I think I'll call it a day. Three weeks from now I will be harvesting my crops! Until tomorrow, remember, constantly talking isn't necessarily communicating...

Wow, Dave! Your blog has truly taken off. See...I told you: if you write, they will come. ;) I'm afraid I'm not a movie buff though, so the quote thing is going to sail right on over my head. Oh well, it's going to take me an eon to catch up on all you've written, oh prolific one. I am muchly proud of you.

I guess I should get back to my blog, but...not much to say really. I'm thinking of letting it just die a natural death.

Hope your day is good. :D

A day late and a dollar short! I see some quotes I actually would've known, oh well.

The "rainbow" cloud sounds very cool, have never seen anything like that. Loved the panoramas, especially the Tomb of Ramses and the Bethlehem Church.
