Wanna Hear the Most Annoying Sound in the World?

Greetings, one and all! Dave the Sluggard here, bringing the pain, in the form of another rambling post about this and that... ah, where to begin?

I discovered Facebook's version of Boggle today, and I took to it like a Wilson to Anime. They call it "Scramble" for some reason, but it's basically the same as Boggle. I quickly topped the high scores of every other "friend" on my list that has played the game, and so I'm feeling pretty good. I've played a bunch of games of Scrabble as well this past week, and I have yet to lose there as well. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm currently an arrogant turd that is in desperate need of a humbling, so if any of you out there have Facebook and want to play some Scrabble or some Scramble, let me know.

Of course, I also tried Word Twist, but Havah has beaten me several times on that game, so it doesn't count... MUAHAHAHA!!!!

Got some newsletter stuff done today, as well as some work on the Rug Care Central files, for the upcoming expansion of the site. We're going to add a big, interactive map of the rug weaving regions of the Middle East, with clickable city and village names that will take you to pages that show examples and give basic information about the rugs woven there. Also people will be able to add travel stories to those pages if they've actually been there before and have places to recommend. We have other plans for the site, but that's the one I'm most excited about. Nothing like that on the web anywhere that I've seen...

I finished Best Served Cold last night, so I wrote a review of it, which you'll find below this post, in a post of its own. I talked to Tim George today about how he became a book reviewer and it sounded interesting. I certainly read enough books, being a reviewer might be fun. Just add it to my list of things I want to dabble in, eh? My problem is I'm such an unorthodox writer, I'm not sure I'd be able to write an objective review without inadvertently dumping spoilers in there, just so I can go, "What the heck was the author thinking here?" or "Hey, check this part out, it's wicked cool."

I also watched some tutorials last night on doing animation in Photoshop, which look fun. I know I've threatened before to make little animations and post them here, and I'm another few steps closer to making good on that threat. We'll see... I certainly think I have the goofy sense of humor for it...

Here's a classic clip some of yopu might have seen before... it's a cool commercial from Norway...

Too cool.

By the way, is there such a thing as too much rainbow sherbet? I'm thinking no, actually.

Well, I might as well throw in a Funny Picture while I'm at it. Here's a pair of shoes I don't think wifey has yet...

Well, you gotta give the creator of those "claw shoes" some points for originality, eh? I can't decide if those shoes are ridiculously cool or thoroughly lame and nerdy. I guess it's "Informal Poll" time... let me know what your vote is. I'll tally the results, and then, lemming that I am, I shall go with the majority opinion. Cuz goodness knows, I rarely have an original thought or opinion myself...

My favorite webcomic The Order of the Stick has only updated twice in the past few weeks. What the heck? Don't tell me that the strip creator is taking a well-deserved vacation or something! Doesn't he know I need to know what happens next in the story? Sheesh! Some people!

I had a Red Bull today, for old times sake. It was a little can, so it's all good. Nothing like Red Bull on ice, ah! I would have had a coffee also, but last time I bought coffee, I found something hairy floating in the cup...

Well, in their defense, I do think I accidentally said "puppiccino"...

I think I'm going to pass on the daily trivia today. I've been sitting down too long, I need to stretch my legs. So I'm going to go now. Be sure to quickly skim over my review of Best Served Cold below this, and let me know what a lousy reviewer I am. I shall assume that I will improve upon practice.

Until tomorrow, remember, the last thing I need is another picture of me looking like a porcelain doll.

PS Someone play me Scrabble/Scramble!

I'm glad you like the Scramble, Dave. I suck at it mightily, so no challenge will be forthcoming from me. Sorry. :(

The travel idea on Rug Care Central sounds very cool. I'll take a peek when it's up and running.

I wonder what the dining car looks like after that loop. :-/

The shoes: I think that they would be invaluable in a fight. You could do that ostrich thing. What do they call it again? Oh yes...disemboweling. Not that I'm a fighter or anything.

Ah, yes...nothing like a little "hair of the dog that bit you" to get the morning started right. :D

A Wilson to anime?

My vote is dorky. Not because they have claws but because they shaped them like clown shoes. They should have made them a little more proportionate.

The Wilson/Anime reference was supposed to be a compliment... you didn't interpret it as otherwise, did you? I was saying I embraced Scramble the way you all embrace anime... strongly and with great verve, in other words...

the shoes cry out for 5" heals..whats the point of making a fashion statment unless you can hear it too?..also don't think they would look good in a size 5 so don't think the wife will go for them..[plus, I suddenly have Paulas toe blog back in my head..thanks alot]
