Coming to You LIVE from 'Crown Stealer'!
Short post tonight. While I was browsing through a couple of my "random odd stories" sites, my primary computer got a hideous virus that hosed my system... I've got it offline and unplugged, and have arranged to get it to Vye, who can hopefully save my work files. Like a tool, I haven't backed up anything since about July, I think... it just takes so long, it's one of those things I just kept putting off. Now it's too late...
Anyway, I'm a little mad at myself for letting it happen. I think I know when it happened, too... I was following a link to a funny story and the page loaded with a video ad on the side, which immediately started playing, and it was loud and obnoxious. Instead of closing the browser, I clicked the "mute" button on the video player that the ad was playing on, and boom, it all went to heck. Before I could do anything, my antivirus software was uninstalled, all my System Restore points were erased, and a fake Scan Report Results pop-up window embedded itself on my desktop, and I couldn't do anything unless I clicked "remove all viruses" on the fake pop-up. Even doing a hard reboot didn't do anything... I can't proceed and even try and access my data unless I click the pop-up.
So I powered it down, unplugged it and it will hopefully be to Vye by Wednesday. He says it shouldn't be a problem to get my data, and then nuke the hard drive, reinstalling Windows... ah, well, lessons learned the hard way, and all that... at least my novel files and camp slideshow are safe on other systems...
Bottom line, I have just some more beautiful landscapey pics to share and that's about it. My Funny Pictures archive is on the other system... so here's some pretty shots, and then I'm going to call it a night.
I guess that'll do for now... man, even if I put a half-dozen of these kinds of shots in every post between now and Jan 1, I still won't get through them all... so many awesome shots...
Anyway, that's that. Wish me luck.

Yuck and good luck. I've never had any real viruses or anything, but I've had a system crash twice, resulting in a loss of everything and a complete reinstall of Windows. Now I own a external hard-drive, which I occasionally back my stuff up onto. At least you've got other systems and didn't lose your novel!
Sorry to hear about your computer problems. Hope all turns out well.
Yeah, I think it'll work out. I know capable computer heroes, so it should be fine. But no more nosing around random sites to find weird things to post for you all! I might have to resort to actually writing my thoughts on real issues for the last weeks of December! *shudder*
Did anyone click on that top pic, and really look at it? It blows me away, how awesome that pic is. It may be my favorite landscapey pic I've ever put up...
I have new followers! Welcome Viry and CC!
Yeah, that top picture is pretty cool. It's my background for my dual monitors at work now.
