That's the First Time I've Used that Joke in Twenty Years...

"Fahrenheit" or "heron fight," which one?

I love the chilly weather! Yes, I realize that just about everywhere else in the world gets colder than San Diego in the fall and winter, I realize that. I'm a lightweight, I know. Still, I love when fall sinks its teeth in and there's a crispness in the air. I get to pile on the blankies and sleep with a hooded sweatshirt on... and with my ear plugs in, it's like snuggling up inside a cocoon. I love it. Do you mind if I don't smoke?

Of course, that also means Christmas begins it's approach, with the flood of pressures and responsibilities that accompany it. Plus, I have to say goodbye to my summerwear... ah, leopard-print loin cloths, I shall see you again come spring... sleep well! You must fan the flames of love with the bellows of indifference!

Check out the latest prototype OLED laptop from Sony...

If you haven't been tracking the development of the OLED tech, check out this cool video for a quick run-down. They've basically developed tech that can play video on material that is practically paper-thin. On that laptop there, the black surface you see is (from what I understand) a continuous, touch-sensitive surface that projects video and allows you to type and interact with your grubby little fingers. The OLED display tech will, I predict, soon mean they can add commercials to magazines, and also make video posters for tacking up around town. I believe there was also talk of making video patches to wear on your clothing. Moving-image T-shirts... that's rife with possibilities!

It's been too long since I posted a Funny Japanese Gameshow Clip, so here you go...

Dang, I haven't laughed that hard in forever. My stomach hurts now... oh, that reminds me, where are my pants?

Watched a couple episodes of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmer... I don't know what it is about travel/food shows like that, why they fascinate me so. I guess I appreciate the idea of traveling the world, heck, I don't know. One of these days, perhaps I'll escape my office and see what's out there. In fact, I also watched an episode of a show called Skate Europe, which showed a few of the major cities in Germany, and places there to skate. I guess it just reinforces the feeling I have that I'm frittering away my years ensconced in my safe corner while life marches on, you know? Like riding inside the car as opposed to out on the hood, clinging to the hood ornament, screaming and laughing and feeling alive...

I did go on a walk today, though. See, I'm real healthy now! My legs still work! I was going to pop in my iPod, listen to some tunes and just walk and think/pray, but wifey and youngest decided to go with, which was fine. I'd like to make it a habit of walking every day. I thought getting an audio book or two would be cool, but I looked into them today, and they aren't cheap! Plus, there weren't many Fantasy titles available that I could find. If anyone knows of a cool site to download audiobooks, I'm all ears...

I found this cool open-source animation software today, simply called Pencil. It looks basic and very cool. Perhaps a good introduction to the artform - one I've always wanted to dabble in. I downloaded it; I'll try it out and let y'all know if it's cool or not. If I get anything created, you can be sure I'll put it up here. Nothing as elaborate as this next clip, I'm sure...

Well, it makes you think, eh? Why did they walk the whole way if they could have just flown the giant eagles to the mountain? Guess it would have made for a lousy film...

I'm sorry I said that; it isn't fair to the rest of the baboons...

Going into the Rug Shop tomorrow, to work on the website some more. Looking forward to that. Yeah, what can I say... mellow post tonight. Gonna go get ready for bed (hoodie, sweats and a book FTW)... believe me, you gotta get up early if you want to get out of bed. Until tomorrow, remember, go fast... I can see a man with a rope out there.

Current Book: The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson
Current Game: Warzone Tower Defense on Facebook
Current Viewing: Bizarre Foods, Skate Europe
Current Productivity Level: Pathetically Low

That OLED technology is awesome, though I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be with a laptop that thin.

I get all my audiobooks from the public library. The selection is huge. They have some that are already in mp3 format, too.

Let me know how the Pencil software turns out.

Y'know, I've always wondered why the eagles didn't help out any sooner. Were they afraid of the Nazgul? It's always been a logic failure that I've tried to overlook.

haha, yeah, once Gandalf was rescued from the top of Saurumon's tower, he should have told the eagles to go help Frodo and Sam :P Guess he wasn't smart enough after all! lol. Did you watch some of the other ones? Very funny!

15 points for Crystal, 5 points for Krista!

Thanks for the library idea, Logan... never considered that.

Abbie, yeah some of the other HISHE episodes are great. I hope to post more eventually. Cool website too. They've got support from STARZ now, so they've got a bigger budget now, and claim they'll put out new episodes every month now.

I enjoy audiobooks. I fall asleep listening to them or while I'm walking the dog. Right now I'm listening to Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. If it was in book form I would have bailed on it by now, but it works for how I use it. That and it is slim pickens' when you're "borrowing" audio books from the interweb.

I too enjoy traveling food shows. Something about Andrew Zimmerman makes me unable to watch him. I'll stick with Man v. Food, DDD, and No Reservations.

Is that laptop the prize for next months movie quote contest?

I have to say got a couple laughs here. Great way to end the day.

I love the Lord of the Rings video. Got a chuckle there too.

I do have to ask on the laptop. Where do you type? I didn't see any keys. Are the touchscreen keys when you turn it on? I think I would have a really hard time with that one. I like to hear the clicking of the keys as I type. (I start to think I am quick at typing... then that one key with the arrow pointing to my left goes really quick to~ and it sounds a little different than all the other keys and everyone know I made a few mistakes.)

Autumn is my favourite time of year here too.

I don't stress about Christmas. Not having money helps. You get to just enjoy it like when you were a kid.

Ha! And you thought that marshmallow kid torture was bad?! *L* I just don't want a marshmallow that bad. They'd have to hang a giant slab of chocolate at least!

Oh, I can't wait to travel again. Those food-travel shows are cool.

Audio books? All ears? Nice little pun you slipped in there. :) I don't like listening to stuff when I walk...it defeats the purpose of being outside....makes me feel like I'm just on a treadmill.

Sorry, that should be "I don't want a marshmallow that badly"
