Comments, Collateral, Cats and Crispin

I've noticed an ugly trend of late... only 3 comments on each of the last three posts! That is wrong on so many levels! You guys are just not cutting it.... you have to make up for it on this post... you have to drop ALL KINDS of comments on this one... otherwise the reading on my Happiness Meter could dip into dangerous levels, and I'll have to resort to posting old Pooter videos and dropping poorly-thought-through theological rants in here... or I could go on and on about Skyrim... heaven forbid!

But to get things rolling, you can see that beautiful Tuscany photo at the top of the post there... come on, that's a great photo! And it's Tuscany! Doesn't it make you want to leave a comment, eh? Or at least make you want to eat at Olive Garden?

Here's a video clip... maybe this will prompt a comment...

There. That should be good for two comments at least.

Plus, if I get enough comments, I'll win a free set of steak knives! Come on, you have to help me win those knives! They can cut through a shoe and everything! Think of it! If society devolves into a post-apocalyptic zombie-infested dystopian wasteland and I'm forced to eat old shoes to survive, then I'll be golden! And it will all be because of you and your comments!

Hmm... maybe a funny picture will work...

That's both funny and cute! That has GOT to work! If not, I'll throw a funny/cute cat picture in here, just to up the ante a bit...

Go get him, kitty! Get that bug!

I had to post this one nice and big, so you'll see the bug... otherwise the effect is lost... and so will any comments be that might have been lavished upon me!

You see, if I get enough comments, I'll also win a voucher for a free Emergency Tonsillectomy. That will come in handy some day, I'm sure. Of course, I'd also like to win the Elective Tonsillectomy Voucher as well, so I could just have it done some weekend when there was nothing good on TV... but to qualify for that voucher, I'd need at least 120 Followers as well... *sigh*...

Hmm... how about if I entertain and enlighten you with a little This Dave In History?

Todayve In History: November 22
-------------------------------------

  • 11/22/1963, JFK was assassinated in Dallas. (I always thought there was a second bunman on the gassy knoll...)
  • 11/22/1986: Mike Tyson beats Trevor Berbick to become the youngest heavyweight champ EVAR!!! (Here is a cool clip of a bunch of his early knock-outs... the guy could bring the hammer, for certain... he does a great Herman Cain impression as well...)
  • 11/22/1995: Toy Story is released, the first feature-length, fully computer-animated movie! (Ad infinitum et ultra!)
  • Among those born Nov 22 are: Rodney Dangerfield (1921), Terry Gilliam (1940), Billie Jean King (1943), Mark Ruffalo (1967) and Scarlet Johansson (1984).

In honor of Mark Ruffalo's birthday, here's the Club Shootout scene from Collateral...

When I see scenes like this, the first thing I think is "when they filmed this scene, there was no music! All those extras are dancing in silence!" Yeah, I know, sorry... that's the way my mind works. Mark Ruffalo is awesome in that movie. Too cool. I need facial hair like his... then I can be cool, too. Actually Jamie Foxx and Tom Cruise are awesome in that film, too... too bad the movie itself wasn't all that red hot...

That reminds me, the trailer for Snow White & the Huntsman looks surprisingly good. I'm looking forward to it. It has another awesomely-cool actor in it... that dude from Thor, whatever his name is. I'd look it up, but I'm feeling lazy right now...

Then again, maybe if I don't look the name up, I'll lose out on a few comments! BRB... his name is Chris Hemsworth. Shoot, I shouldn't have looked it up! Now I see that Kenneth Branagh was the director of Thor... I can't like that movie anymore now... anyone who would enact such a lame Hamlet, and then run roughshod over Sleuth like he did deserves no kudos from me, in any manner.... unless, of course, he leaves a comment on today's post! Then I will love him! I'll even acknowledge that his 1989 performance of Henry V was quite good!

Hmmm... when is St. Crispin's Day, I wonder? I'd look it up, but I'm feeling laz-- gah! Caught myself again! BRB... nertz! It was October 25th! I missed it! And that's Maggie's birthday! I'll remember it forever, now...

Well, if this post doesn't yield a bumper-crop of comments, nothing will. Remember, if I get enough comments, I'll win free foot massages for a year!

And now, soldiers, march away, and how thou pleasest God, dispose the day.

Hi, David! Peter here doing some commenting on your blog! Hehehehehe.

Yes, I'm looking forward to that Snow White movie too. Julia Roberts as the evil queen! How can you go wrong with that!

This comment is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places and incidents either are products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.

(Psst: Great post!)

Someone had their Triple Shot MochaFrappaCappaLatte today!

The Dueling BBC cartoon was funny.

Is this enough commenting to prevent Pooter clips? :)

Beth A.

PS: If you like BBC stuff, the Sherlock "Series" (barely, there's only 3 episodes per season)on Netflix is excellent.

Peter: You're thinking of "Mirror, Mirror"... not a big fan of Julia Roberts, I likely won't watch that one... this is a different film. Check out the trailer and see what you think.

Dori: Thanks for the comment (work of pure fiction or no)! Glad you enjoyed the post. Feel free to lurk as you see fit! Or you could "follow" the blog officially, and become my 60th follower! Think of the joy that would bring you! Think of it!!!!

Beth: I'll have to check out Sherlock Holmes then, thanks for the recommendation. And yes, your comment will buy a week or two of no Pooter videos... if you add another comment, it might keep the rest of the year Pooter-free!

Clabber Girl, I believe you win the prize for the oddest, most cryptic comment ever left in this blog... whoever you are, thank you...

Sheesh, don't I have the right to remain silent?
... No?
Amnesty International's gonna hear about this.

Loved the Dueling animation, even though the dueling pistols seem to be semi-automatic.

As for the Kitty photo... Heavens!
We're talking about some serious lenses here.

lol, nice dueling video! and the baby and kitty pics were awesome :)I agree that the Snow white and the huntsman looks awesome, but they totally should have NOT picked Kristen Stewart to be Snow White!!! Bleh.... she should have joined the comedic Mirror Mirror one :)

Dry: You can't rat me out! If you do, I'll tell A.I. about the orphans you have working in your sweatshops!

Abbie: Yeah, my first response was that they should have gotten someone else for Snow White... but I will reserve judgment until I've seen the flick. Thankfully, I've never seen anything with her in it, so I haven't been tainted against her just yet...
